weblint

Weblint is a syntax and minimal style checker for HTML: a Perl script which picks fluff off html pages, much in the same way traditional lint picks fluff off C programs. The latest version of weblint is 1.020, released 10 September 1997.


htmlchek

htmlchek.awk, htmlchek.pl - Syntactically checks HTML 2.0 or 3.0 files for a number of possible errors; can do local link cross-reference checking, and generate a rudimentary reference-dependency map. Runs under awk or perl. Includes a number of supplemental utilities for HTML file processing.

Doctor HTML

Doctor HTML is a Web page validation and analysis tool for use over the World Wide Web or across company intra-nets behind a firewall. The main program is written in Perl for easy adaptation to specific tasks, with CPU-intensive jobs such as image and spelling analysis handled by external programs. The following features are available in the current release of Doctor HTML.

Easy-to-use Web Interface for report configuration. Informative, nicely-formatted report with hyperlinks to additional information. Eight report options: Check the document for spelling errors (provides suggestions for potentially misspelled words), Perform an analysis of the images (size, number of colors, etc.), Test the document structure and flag invalid HTML, Examine image syntax (flag missing, but recommended elements), Examine table structure, Verify that all hyperlinks are valid, Examine form structure, Show command hierarchy. Ability to test Web pages that are password-protected. Site Doctor: Diagnose your entire Web site, or a subset of pages. Simply provide a top level URL to receive a site map showing page connectivity and individual Doctor HTML reports for each page. Online documentation.
